If you’re looking for live music for an event, we can help! From solo trumpet for a wedding ceremony, to his hard swingin’ jazz bands, to his Dixie band, to his eight piece blues/rock band with a horn section, to a thirteen piece big band, Scott is Maine’s most versatile trumpet player, and has music for all occasions. If it’s quality you’re looking for, know that all of these bands are populated by seasoned, professional musicians whose sole goal is to make your event the best it can be. Scott Davis JazzThe Scott Davis Quartet is a hot, versatile jazz/swing band consisting of piano or guitar, bass, drums, and trumpet/vocals. From quiet, tasty jazz in the corner to blowin’ the roof off the place, this ensemble has got it all. If you want something a bit larger, they can easily add additional horns to the group. Three horns plus the rhythm section is a popular combination. If space or money is tight, they can play as a trio (the quartet minus the drums), or a duo (trumpet/vocals plus piano) at your event. The same hip, swingin’ tunes, the same energy – just less accompaniment. So swing your party hard with one of Scott’s jazz/swing bands!

Big DogsScotty & The Bigdogs is Scott’s 8 piece rock band with a 4 man horn section, playing a rompin’, stompin’ mix of tunes by Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, T Bone Walker, Van Morrison, Elvis, The Beatles, and countless others. The horn section puts this band head and shoulders above bands without, with a phat, brassy sound along the lines of Blood Sweat and Tears, Tower of Power, Chicago, and other horn bands. This band can also work as a 7, 6, 5, or 4 piece band. The 4 and 5 piece bands are called The Scott Davis Blues Band so Bigdogs fans don’t come to a show expecting a full horn section and leave disappointed.

Mike Willette Swing BandThe Mike Willette Swing Band, which Scott leads, is a high energy 13 piece big band with a male vocalist, playing swing tunes from Count Basie to Brian Setzer. A powerhouse brass section, smooth, silky reeds, and a stormin’ rhythm section make this one of Maine’s best big bands. Mike Willette is a veteran crooner with a velvety tenor voice and a nice way with the audience, along the lines of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Michael Buble. Nothing’s classier at a wedding reception than a tuxedo clad big band. This is a powerful, exciting band, that adds a LOT to any event they’re playing!

Dance KingsScott Davis and The Dixie Dance Kings is Scott’s seven piece Dixie band, which is his quartet plus a clarinet, trombone, and banjo, playing a New Orleans style of Dixie jazz. Peppy twobeat jump tunes, beautiful, heartstring tugging ballads, and a bunch of stuff in between. Close your eyes, and you’ll think you’re Struttin’ With Some Barbeque down Bourbon Street.

Brass Attack HornsThe Brass Attack Horns – The Bigdogs’ horn section (trumpet, trombone, alto/tenor sax, and baritone sax) is available to plug into your rock band, should you have one. Power, attitude, experience, and charts make these guys ready to hit the ground running, and make your sound so big it’ll have it’s own zip code. They’ve got an extensive book of popular rock tunes, and if they don’t have a tune you want to play, Scott will write it! So don’t be just another guitar band. Brass it up and class it up with The Brass Attack Horns.

About Scott

Scott DavisScott is a well experienced trumpet player/vocalist, having played in bands of all sizes and styles in New England and beyond. He’s skilled, experienced, and professional, and brings a lot to any band he’s performing with. You’ll enjoy his broad tone and phrasing, his straight ahead, hard swinging style, the lushness and humanity of his ballads, and the fun he brings to the band and audience. Some guys keep a fishing rod or gun in their truck. Scott keeps a trumpet in his (for emergencies). He’s organized and a stickler for detail. Sideman love playing in Scott’s bands, because they know they’ll be playing with top shelf musicians, Scott’s equipment is all the best, the bandstand looks great, and the show starts on time, every time.

Along with fronting his bands, Scott is also available to play in yours. He plays often in other people’s bands, as both a regular band member, and as a sub. He plays for church services and weddings. He plays in, leads, and writes music for pit bands for shows. He plays for recording sessions. In the fall and winter, he’s the Pep Band Director at Morse High School in Bath. He’s a musician of many skills that can add a lot to your band or event.
